“Business Class with no Business Class”
You have probably heard about European Business Class standards. Many European airlines do not provide wide seats for short and medium flights on board of A319/320, but they separate several rows with a curtain and block the middle seat for Business Class passengers’ comfort.
In such case you know what do you pay for. You have much space, better meal and Business lounge in departure airport. SAS Business Class in our case had only the airport lounge that differed it from Economy Class, that’s why it is actually called “PLUS” Class, not Business.
2. Airport time
Our check in process was quick and we were offered SAS Business Lounge, as it was the company’s hub airport. We really liked the lounge, as it was not overcrowded at all, providing different sitting areas, computer zone, phone rooms that we met the first time and a good buffet with perfectly served breakfast.
Buffet provided fresh fruits and pastry, cheeses, kinds of ham, different appetisers, yoghurts, musli and even a porridge. It was a good variety for European company Business Lounge.

1. Flight time
We went for boarding at the right time and it was a bit of line by the aircraft entrance, but at that point we haven’t know yet that we would fly in Economy.
As soon as we entered the plane, we noticed that there was no curtain between cabins, no blocked seats and all the passengers sit normally on every seat. We sat in our 6th row with one more passenger and were really disappointed, not understanding the sense of that SAS Business Class we paid for.
It was A320 aircraft with one big Economy Class cabin and full of passengers. As soon as we took off, the cabin crew started a meal service and there we found a bit of difference.
2.1. Food
We were offered refreshment towels, water, juice and paper box with our breakfast meal. Despite the fact that the other passengers behind us had smaller breakfast package, we was not satisfied.
Having no difference in seats comfort, we had our food in paper box, like in Economy Class, so we didn’t count it as a difference also.

3. Impression
We absolutely don’t suggest you flying SAS Business Class on short distances, as it has no sense at all. It is a waste of money in our opinion. We are ok with European Business Class, when we have any advantages during the flight. Usually it is much space and good meal service, but not in case with SAS.
